Iced Chai

I'm about to share with you a fairly straightforward recipe for something delicious. An iced chai tea.

It's really nothing fancy. If you can boil water, you can make this tea. Well, boil water and buy things. Like the tea bags, because, although you can make spiced tea at home and I'm sure that is really yummy and fun, I personally have no interest in that level of beverage involvement, so teabags it is. I got these at Trader Joe's.

In other news, this recipe is the first installment of an idea of mine that will be executed randomly and inconsistently at best, but executed nonetheless: thirsty Thursdays, a drink recipe post for the thirstiest day of the week. (Okay, Friday is probably the thirstiest day of the week, but "thirsty Friday" doesn't have the same ring to it).

So without further ado, a fairly simple recipe for iced chai. Bottoms up!

Iced Chai:

4 cups water
5 chai tea bags
1/3 - 1/2 cup honey (1/2 a cup is definitely on the sweeter side)
Ice and almond milk to taste

Pour water over tea bags and put on stovetop on medium to high heat, boil for 5-10 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Whisk in honey.
When tea is completely cooled (or before, if you're especially impatient and don't mind a little dilution) fill a cup with ice 1/2-2/3 of the way with your tea concentrate, filling the rest of the way with almond milk (or milk of choice).

And that's it! You're done! Now enjoy a lot of pictures of iced chai:
